Curriculum Vitae

From 1994-1998 he studied business and economics at the University of Wuppertal. Between 1999 and 2009 he worked as a research assistant and assistant professor at the Chair for Organization and Strategic Management at the FernUniversität in Hagen, where he received his PhD in 2004 and his habilitation in 2009. Since April 2010 he holds the Chair of Business Administration, in particular Organization Studies and Human Resource Management at the Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf.

He has undefinedpublished several articles about organization, human resource management and (international) management. Furthermore, he is a reviewer for international and national journals and conferences. From 2012 till 2014 he was a member of the editorial board of the undefinedEuropean Management Journal. In 2016 he became a member of the editorial board of the undefinedGerman Journal of Research in Human Resource Management (ZfP). He has also taught courses at several universities including the University Duisburg-Essen, the European School of Management ESCP-EAP Berlin, the University of Applied Sciences St. Pölten (Austria) and the Düsseldorf Business School.

He has led the research project „undefinedFreelancers in conflict between flexibility and stability”, which is funded by the German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the European Social Fund. Currently he is leader of two subproject: the BMBF-project undefinedDYNAMIK 4.0 and the BMBF-projecet undefinedSEEGEN.

Since April 2016 speaker of theundefined Manchot Graduate School "Competitiveness of Young Enterprises" (WEJU). Participation in successful external funding (e.g., DFG, BMBF, the state of NRW).

From October 2013 till December 2014, Professor Süß was Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics at the Heinrich Heine University Duesseldorf. From January 2015till September 2017 he was Vice President for Quality in Studies and Human Resource Management. Since May 2016 President of the Academic Advisory Board of the undefinedDüsseldorf Business School.
