Research project SEEGEN

Among other things induced by an often mentally and physically challenging work environment as well as frequent work in shifts, employees in healthcare are exposed to particular risks. Aspects such as the demographic change and limited hospital funding intensify the situation, especially for hospital employees.

Against this background, it is the aim of the research project SEEGEN (mental health at the workplace hospital) to develop, implement and evaluate interventions to promote the well-being and health of hospital employees. In a first step, broad awareness of the necessity of the interventions shall be raised, on the employee level as well as on the management level, before specific interventions shall be established and tested empirically concerning their effect.

The multidisciplinary project with participants from the field of medicine, psychology and business administration includes four different locations.

The research project is funded by the German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and has started on September 1, 2017 ending August 31, 2021. The reference number is 01GL1752B.  At our chair, Elena Gesang is working on the project which is led by Professor Süß and PD Dr. Ruhle.
